Ruby Stacey Gymnastics Eyes Major Championship Success

Great Britain's rising gymnastics star Ruby Stacey is preparing for one of the busiest and most important seasons of her career. The 21-year-old has been selected to represent England at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and Great Britain at the European Championships in Zagreb.

Her season will continue later this year with the World Championships in Rotterdam, giving Stacey the chance to compete at three major international events within a few months.

Stacey said the packed schedule offers an important opportunity to build confidence and improve her routines before the biggest competition of the year.

She believes the Commonwealth Games will provide valuable experience ahead of the European Championships and later the World Championships.

Training for the upcoming competitions has already begun.

Stacey said preparation is progressing well, and the team recently started its training camp for the Commonwealth Games.

The gymnast has steadily established herself as one of Britain's leading athletes.

She reached the all-around final at the 2021 World Championships during her first senior season and finished 15th overall.

She also served as a reserve athlete for the British gymnastics team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Over the past few years, Stacey has continued to improve her international results.

In 2025, she won the gold medal on vault and the silver medal on the uneven bars at the World Challenge Cup in Varna.

Earlier in her career, she also earned a bronze medal on the uneven bars at the 2022 World Challenge Cup in Koper.

Her strong performances have continued throughout the current season.

At the World Cup in Osijek in April, Stacey finished fourth on the balance beam and fifth on vault.

She also claimed the all-around silver medal at the British Championships in March, showing consistent form ahead of this year's major events.

Throughout her international career, she has reached at least one event final in nearly every World Cup or World Challenge Cup competition she has entered.

She explained that the 2021 season came shortly after the Olympic Games, when many experienced gymnasts were taking time away from competition.

As a first-year senior, she decided to take the opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Since then, Stacey says she has upgraded several of her routines.

She is planning further improvements before the World Championships, including a more difficult beam dismount and a new beam series designed to increase her scoring potential.

Stacey also believes she can make an important contribution to her teams beyond her individual performances.

She said the uneven bars remain one of her strongest events and hopes to deliver high scores for England and Great Britain during the upcoming competitions.

The gymnast also described herself as a supportive teammate who enjoys helping others during competitions.

She said she remains calm under pressure and often helps teammates stay relaxed before their routines.

As the Commonwealth Games approach, Stacey will focus on refining her performances and building momentum for the European Championships and the World Championships.

With strong recent results, growing international experience, and new routine upgrades planned, she hopes this season will become one of the most successful of her career.
